Updates for Patients & Community

Last updated: October 7, 2026

For decades, PCHC has worked to protect access to health care when communities faced the loss of important services. Over time, PCHC took on practices and programs to help keep care available close to home. As the organization grew, so did the cost and complexity of sustaining those services.

Today, rising health care costs, workforce shortages, payments for care that have not kept pace with the cost of providing it and other challenges facing health care organizations across the country have added to that strain. PCHC is making difficult changes to strengthen the organization, focus resources on sustainable essential care, and protect access for the patients and communities who depend on us.

PCHC remains open and continues to provide care. If a change directly affects your provider, appointment or services, we will communicate with you directly.

Current Service & Program Updates

Warren Center

What is happening with Warren Center audiology services?

PCHC is working with another organization regarding a possible transition of Warren Center audiology services.

No agreement has been finalized. If a transition cannot be completed, Warren Center will close as a PCHC service on or around November 13, 2026.

What about Speech Therapy services?

Speech Therapy services previously provided through Warren Center have already ended. Current transition discussions are focused on audiology services.

Where will patients receive audiology care after November 13?

Those details are still being worked out.

If a transition to another organization is completed, additional information will be shared with patients. If a transition does not occur, PCHC will provide patients with resources on our website for receiving audiology care elsewhere.

What happens to appointments scheduled after November 13?

Warren Center staff will contact patients with audiology appointments scheduled after November 13 directly about next steps.

What happens with hearing-aid warranties, repairs, fittings or technical support?

Those details are still being finalized as part of the patient continuity plan. Impacted patients will receive additional information as next steps are confirmed.

Who can I contact with questions about Warren Center?

Please call PCHC’s Patient Communications Center at 207-404-8100.

Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse

What is happening with Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse?

Kennebec Behavioral Health has preliminarily agreed to assume operations of Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse.

PCHC, KBH and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services are working through the transition process with the goal of making the change as smooth as possible for members and staff.

The transition has not yet been finalized, but PCHC expects it to move forward barring unforeseen circumstances. If the transition cannot be completed, Unlimited Solutions Clubhouse would close on November 30, 2026.

What does the transition mean for Clubhouse members?

The goal for both PCHC and KBH is to make the transition as smooth as possible for Clubhouse members and staff. PCHC and Clubhouse staff will continue sharing information with members as additional details are confirmed.

Adult Wellness Center

What is happening with Adult Wellness Center?

Adult Wellness Center is closing as a separate practice, and patient care services are transitioning to other PCHC locations. The majority of services will move to PCHCenter, with some specialty services relocating to other PCHC locations.

Will patients continue seeing their same providers?

For most patients, yes. Most providers will continue caring for their patients at other PCHC locations, primarily at PCHCenter, located just across the parking lot from Adult Wellness Center.

How will patients know where to go for their next appointment?

PCHC is contacting impacted patients directly with information about their provider, new location and next steps.

Outreach & Enrollment

What is changing with Outreach & Enrollment?

PCHC has eliminated its Outreach & Enrollment Team as part of broader efforts to reduce costs and improve long-term financial sustainability. Some outreach and enrollment work will continue and will be overseen by a smaller number of staff.

Will patients still be able to get help with outreach and enrollment needs?

Some assistance will continue, although the team will no longer operate in the same way it has in the past. PCHC is working to maintain support for patients where possible as these changes take effect.

Can I still get help with prescription assistance?

Yes. Some prescription assistance support will continue. Patients can learn more about available resources on our Prescription Assistance page.

Seaport Dental Center

Is Seaport Dental Center closing?

Seaport Dental Center is temporarily closed due to staffing needs. Recruitment efforts remain a priority as PCHC works toward resuming dental services for the community.

I previously heard that Seaport Dental Center would reopen two Fridays per month. Is that still happening?

PCHC previously anticipated offering limited services two Fridays per month beginning in late October or early November. At this time, we are not able to commit to that schedule. Staffing plans are still being worked through, and we will provide updated information when plans are confirmed.

When will Seaport Dental Center reopen?

There is not currently a confirmed date for services to resume. We are continuing recruitment efforts and will share additional information as soon as plans are finalized.

Can I schedule an appointment at Seaport Dental Center?

Seaport Dental Center is currently temporarily closed, and appointments are not being scheduled at this time.

What should I do if I have an urgent dental need?

If you are experiencing a dental emergency or urgent dental concern, such as dental pain, swelling or infection, please contact Bangor Dental Center at 207-992-2152 for assistance.

Questions About PCHC’s Financial Situation

Why is PCHC making these changes?

PCHC is working through serious financial challenges and taking steps to reduce ongoing losses, preserve cash, improve efficiency and strengthen the organization for the future.

As part of that work, PCHC is reviewing services for long-term sustainability and, where possible, working with other organizations that may be able to continue important services in the community.

Is PCHC closing?

No. PCHC remains open and continues to provide care.

Is PCHC filing for bankruptcy?

PCHC has not filed for bankruptcy.

Chapter 11 restructuring is one option the organization is preparing for as a last resort, but no decision has been made to file. PCHC remains open and continues providing care.

What is Chapter 11? Does it mean PCHC would close?

No. Chapter 11 is a restructuring process, not a closure. It can allow an organization to continue operating while working through financial obligations.

Can I still come to PCHC for care?

Yes. PCHC continues to provide care and services.

If anything changes that directly affects your care, provider or services, PCHC will communicate with you.

Should I still come to my appointment?

Yes. Please continue with scheduled appointments unless PCHC or your care team contacts you directly about a change.

Should I find a new doctor or transfer my care?

PCHC remains open and continues to provide care.

If a change affects your provider or where you receive care, PCHC will contact you directly with additional information.

Will my appointment be canceled?

Appointments continue as scheduled unless you are contacted about a change.

If an appointment needs to be rescheduled or moved to another location, your care team will contact you.

Will I still be able to get my medications from PCHC pharmacies?

PCHC pharmacies continue to operate.

Will I still be able to reach my care team?

Yes. Patients should continue contacting PCHC and their care teams as usual.
