Meredith H. Jones Joins PCHC Board of Directors
We are pleased to announce that Meredith H. Jones has joined PCHC’s Board of Directors and is serving on its Pediatric Center Fundraising Campaign Committee. Ms. Jones is the former President and CEO of the Maine Community Foundation, retiring from the foundation in 2015 after 16 years of service.
Mr. Mark Woodward, PCHC Board Chair, states, “Meredith Jones is an exceptional addition to the PCHC board. She brings personal experience and relationships with the business community, a deep understanding of Maine and its people and an appreciation for the role of non-profits in strengthening the state’s communities.”
Ms. Jones has developed and led a number of significant programs, including Leadership Maine and the Maine Coalition for Excellence in Education. In 2015, Ms. Jones received the Kenneth L. Curtis Leadership Award from Leadership Maine for her distinguished statewide leadership in philanthropy. She is the recipient of the Deborah Morton award of the University of New England and was recognized by the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center as a Distinguished Maine Policy Fellow. She is a graduate of Colby Sawyer College and the University of Maine at Augusta and has completed post-graduate work at the University of Maine.
In 2013, Ms. Jones received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the University of Maine at Augusta, and in May 2016 she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from the University of Southern Maine.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), PCHC’s Board of Directors serves as its governing body, responsible for financial oversight, strategic planning, defining mission and services, and ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements, among other responsibilities.
