Convenience and Comfort

Conveniently located at Penobscot Community Health Center, 1012 Union Street, Bangor,  you can park just outside the office for quick entry, check-in is fast and easy, and you won’t have to travel through a large hospital or facility. Your medication order is prepared just for you, right when you need it, with no pharmacy wait. This leads to much shorter appointment times.

The PCHC Infusion Center has semi-private rooms for you and a guest; heated recliners, a flat-screen tv with Netflix and cable, an Android tablet with free wi-fi, as well as snacks and drinks.

Cost

Infusion medications work but are also very expensive. On average, the expert care at the PCHC Infusion Center will cost 50-70% less as the same care provided at a hospital, which can save you thousands of dollars out-of-pocket.  Medication prices vary and coverage is based on your insurance plan benefits, but the goal is to provide high-quality infusion services with the lowest possible out-of-pocket cost. We work with your insurance carriers to ensure fast, accurate claim processing with maximum coverage.

PCHC will treat all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Our staff will help you find all of the available resources to make your treatment as affordable as possible. They can even help with other prescription medication costs.

What kinds of medications will be given at PCHC Infusion Center?

The Infusion Center can give almost any medication except chemotherapy (cancer drugs) and blood transfusions. Examples of the medications and services we offer are listed below, but please call our office at 207-404-8040 to ask about other treatments.

Who provides infusion therapy services?

Treatments will be provided by nurses with specialized training and experience in infusion therapy and vascular access. To further enhance safety, the PCHC Specialty Pharmacy Consult Service will provide clinical oversight including dose verification and medication reconciliation. Additionally, there will always be a physician on site when the Infusion Center is caring for patients.
