Hope House Receives Bangor Savings Bank Grant for Renovations

PCHC is pleased to announce that the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation has generously awarded PCHC’s Hope House Health & Living Center a grant in the amount of $25,000 to help fund a new entryway and medical clinic.

Renovations will increase safety and improve quality of life for people using Hope House services and for the neighboring community. Renovations include expanded clinical space and a new shelter entrance, bridging the emergency shelter and transitional housing as the Hope House Health & Living Center strives to help guests improve the quality of their health and their life through increased health care services and coordination of care. A new emergency shelter entrance will provide much needed space and safety improvements that will enhance the intake process and provide a safe environment for both the staff and the guests who require the services of the emergency shelter.

Kenneth Schmidt, MPA, PCHC President and CEO, states, “We are enormously appreciative of Bangor Savings Bank’s commitment to the community and PCHC and the least fortunate among us.”

“Bangor Savings Bank is pleased to provide financial support to Penobscot Community Health Care for the Hope House renovation project. The Hope House Health & Living Center provides critical services to the Greater Bangor area and Bangor Savings Bank understands the importance of making these safety improvements for both staff and guests of the shelter,” said Carol Colson, Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing and Community Relations for Bangor Savings Bank.
