Lisa Bergmark, PA-C Joins PCHC’s Brewer School-Based Health
We are pleased to announce that Lisa Bergmark, PA-C has joined our Brewer School Based Health Centers located at the Brewer High School and the Brewer Community School. PCHC currently hosts a medical office at each location and offers a unique opportunity for students to receive health care when they need it at school.
The student health center staff consists of an experienced physician assistant, dental hygienist, and a licensed therapist who work closely with the schools’ nurses and guidance counselors to coordinate care. Lisa Bergmark, PA-C, the newest member of the school-based health center team, received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Le Moyne College. She has been practicing since 2008, most recently at PCHC’s Brewer Medical Center.
Treatment provided at the school-based health centers does not take place of the student’s current primary care provider, but instead allows for children to receive immediate medical care when needed, without the need of a parent to leave work. Services include: physical exams, sports physicals, vaccines, diagnosis and treatment of acute or chronic illness and minor illness or injury, as well as oral health screenings and cleaning, and mental health or substance abuse counseling and treatment services.
The Brewer School-Based Health Centers are a collaboration between the Brewer School Department and PCHC. To learn more about Brewer Schools Student Health Centers, go to www.PCHC.com or call 992-2456 (high school) or 992-2393 (community school).
