PCHC Dental Center Now Offering Orthodontics

PCHC is pleased to announce the addition of orthodontics to the range of services offered at PCHC Dental Center, 1048 Union Street, Bangor.  Very few offices in the state accept MaineCare for these services so it is especially important to PCHC’s mission and to patient access.

To provide these services, PCHC has welcomed experience orthodontist, Edward Zanca, DMD, to its dental team.  Dr. Zanca received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maine, his Dental Medical Degree from Tufts University, completed a General Practice Residency Program at Maine Medical Center, as well as a Post Graduate Orthodontic Residency at Boston University School of Dental Medicine.  Dr. Zanca has been in private practice for more than 30 years.

Philip Higgins, Jr., DMD, Chief Dental Officer, states “We are pleased to offer orthodontics to patients who have found it difficult or impossible to obtain care that is so greatly needed. Dr. Zanca is a vastly experienced and competent orthodontist and his affiliation with PCHC will greatly enhance the services we can provide for our patients. He is widely respected in the orthodontic community and we are fortunate to add him to our list of competent dental providers. ”

Dr. Zanca is accepting established patients of PCHC Dental Center for orthodontic services. For an appointment please call 207-945-5247, option 4.  MaineCare is accepted and services will fall under PCHC’s Affordable Care Program (Sliding fee scale) for those who qualify. PCHC has the largest public or private dental practice north of Boston, as well as Maine’s only Accredited Community General Practice Dental Residency and Accredited Pediatric Dental Residency.  In all, PCHC employs 24 fully licensed dentists, as well as about 15 registered dental hygienists.
