Shawn Yardley Joins PCHC as Director of Community Services

Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) is extremely pleased to announce that Shawn Yardley, MS, has joined PCHC as its Director of Community Services.

Mr. Yardley is well-known throughout the Bangor region and in State government. He served most recently for nine years as the Director of Health and Community Services for the City of Bangor; for three years as Director of the River Coalition; for two years as the Director of Adoption of the Maine Adoptions Placement Service; and for 15 years in supervisory/administrator roles for Maine DHS in Bangor. He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Husson University.

Mr. Yardley serves on many boards and committees in the Bangor region and around the state including the Maine Public Health State Coordination Council; Bangor Region Public Health Advisory Committee; Maine Health Access Foundation Community Advisory Council; Region III and State Homeless Councils; Husson University Board of Visitors and Alumni Board; Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee; Maine Children’s Alliance; St. Michael’s Center Board of Directors.

With his deep and broad background, Mr. Yardley will play a key role as a member of PCHC’s Executive Leadership. He will lead efforts to enroll PCHC patients for health insurance through the Marketplace, and will work to educate businesses and community groups about the Marketplace; he will oversee all related PCHC initiatives to assist lower income persons to enroll in PCHC’s Affordable Care Program, Prescription Assistance Program, and other patient benefits. He will provide senior administrative support for PCHC community programs including Eastern Maine AIDS Network, Hope House, Summer Street Health Center, Clubhouse and other programs.
