Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund Awards $10,000 to Jackman Community Health Center

Jackman, Maine — Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) is pleased to announce that the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund recently awarded a $10,000 grant to help fund building renovations and improvements at Jackman Community Health Center.  Jackman Community Health Center is located at 376 Main Street, Jackman, and is staffed by Patricia Doyle, MD.

Lori Dwyer, Esq., President and CEO states, “PCHC is grateful for the support of the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund as we work to provide those who live, work, and vacation in the Moose River Region the health care services they need and deserve in a comfortable, modern facility.  We have been able to make many structural and system improvements to the building over the years thanks largely in part to the generosity of the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund.”

Jackman Community Health Center is open 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, with extended hours until 7pm on Thursday, and also offers 24/7 after hours on-call acute care. The practice provides health care for over 1,000 patients with almost 4,000 patient visits each year and is the only primary care provider within 50 miles. The health center offers family medicine, mental health, X-Ray, laboratory, and pharmacy services, and 24/7 after hours on-call acute care.  The practice joined PCHC in February 2014.
