PCHC Chief Pharmacy Officer Recognized by ASHP for Advocacy
We are pleased to announce that Felicity Homsted, PharmD, BCPS, Chief Pharmacy Officer, was recognized December 7th by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) for her exceptional leadership and advocacy for patients and the profession of Pharmacy.
The ASHP Political Action Committee recognized Dr. Homsted during the Midyear Residency Showcase in New Orleans, Louisiana, in part for her efforts in the campaign for pharmacist provider status. In the past year, ASHP has experienced numerous advocacy victories, most notably the introduction of provider status legislation in January 2015. The Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act now has 243 cosponsors in the House and 36 cosponsors in the Senate. The ASPH credited Dr. Homsted for her substantial contribution toward this effort.
Felicity Homsted, PharmD, BCPS, joined PCHC in 2012 and oversees PCHC’s four pharmacies and its two pharmacy residency programs. Dr. Homsted earned her BS in Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2006 and graduated with her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy, Idaho State University in 2011. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist.
PCHC’s Pharmacy Services has been recognized as a leading practice site nationally for its 340B program and is host to residency programs accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American Pharmacists Association.
