Capehart Community Health Center Helps Capehart Community
For the past three years, PCHC’s Capehart Community Health Center located at 86 Davis Road has been helping members of their community through the generosity and support of the Downeast Toyota/Scion Wellness Center and Food and Medicine, both of Brewer. During this holiday season, the Downeast Toyota/Scion Wellness Center will be making Christmas magical for 25 children in the Capehart community though the donation of toys and warm clothing. Food and Medicine helped Capehart Community Health Center ensure that ten families would have a full Thanksgiving meal, through the donation of turkey baskets. The staff of Capehart Community Health Center helped distribute these donations to families and children most in need in the Capehart community.
Ann Wiersma, former PCHC Board Chair said, “I am absolutely overwhelmed each year with the generosity of the participants of Downeast Toyota/Scion Wellness Center. My car was absolutely loaded with 2 to 3 gifts for each of the 25 children suggested by Capehart Health Center! We were all glad to make their Christmases a little happier.””
Erin Sweeney, Agriculture Organizer, Food and Medicine (FAM), states, “FAM supports laid off workers and families in hard times each year at Thanksgiving through our Solidarity Harvest which offers local food from local farmers, and we are so excited to have been able to partner with PCHC to support local families this holiday.”
Susan Hoovler, FNP, Clinical Leader of Capehart Community Health Center, said, “The Capehart staff enjoyed extending good will and cheer to our patients and their families thanks to the thoughtful generosity of these local Bangor businesses.”
