Capehart Community Health Center Renovated
Renovations of Capehart Community Health Center on 86 Davis Road, Bangor, are underway. The renovations, which are expected to be completed by July 2013, will modernize the facility like several of PCHC’s larger practices, provide upgrades to many life safety systems, and will improve accessibility for patients.
It is anticipated that the project will employ between 50-60 workers at various points of the renovation, all from Maine based companies employing Maine tradespeople. The companies selected to work on the project participated in a bid process. The project is managed by Nickerson & O’Day, and will involve a number of local subcontractors, including RJ Morin, Duffy’s Electric, Downeast Sheet Metal, Central Maine Drywall, Hammond Lumber, Streets Landscaping, Maine Fire Protection, Grenier’s Classic Flooring & Design, Hussey Painting, Builders Installed Products Inc., Pond Cove Millwork, Kamco Supply, Architectural Doors and Windows, and Bellefleur and Sons Advanced Roofing.
The staff of Capehart Community Health Center is temporarily providing services at 992 Union Street, Bangor, to minimize disruption to patient care. Hardy Construction, Inc., managed the renovations at their temporary space which involved work by over a dozen people from Hardy Construction and various local subcontractors, including Mike Marquis Mechanical, the Family Floor Store, Newport Glass, Maine Fire Protection, Norris, Inc., Invironments, Inc., and Central Security.
