Health Fair May 7th at Brewer Community School

PCHC’s Brewer School-Based Health Center is hosting its 6th Annual Health Fair at the Brewer Community School on Thursday, May 7th 8:30am-12:30pm. The event focuses on health and safety and will feature several area businesses and organizations. The Health Fair is geared toward children in Grades 5-8 and will cover topics ranging from bullying, nutrition, brain injury prevention, fire safety, dental care, physical activity, and much more. Details: Several area businesses and organizations, as well as students, will be on-hand to cover a variety of health and safety topics. For students grade 5-8.

A partnership between Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) and the Brewer School Department, PCHC’s Brewer School-Based Health Center (SBHC) provides access to routine primary medical and dental care, mental health counseling services and health education, including preventative measures to over 1,000 students. In fact, the Brewer SBHC, located at Brewer Community School and Brewer High School, is the only school-based health center in the state of Maine to have their own dentist on staff as well as an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner, Counselor, and Registered Dental Hygienist.
