Old Town School-Based Health Center

All RSU 34 staff and students have access to our School-Based Health Center (SBHC), which provide health care services right in school! Even if your child has a primary care provider elsewhere, he/she can receive immediate and on-site medical and mental health care at our SBHC. This service is made possible through a program with Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC). Students do not need to be PCHC patients to use the SBHC in their school. Any student is welcome! Learn more about the medical and mental health services that are available to all students who attend school in RSU 34 by clicking here.

School-Based Health Center Services

At the SBHC, PCHC health professionals can treat a wide variety of medical issues, including:

  • asthma
  • strep throat
  • acne
  • rashes
  • sprains and strains
  • stitches
  • annual well-child exams
  • sports physicals
  • immunizations
  • vomiting or nausea
  • sports injuries
  • and more!

Our SBHC staff also provides on-site mental health counseling.

Convenience for You and Your Family

By using the SBHC, students simply walk down the hall to receive the same professional medical care they would receive at one of our family medical practices. By providing convenient professional care in school, parents do not need to leave work and provide transportation.

Note: Your child does not need to be a PCHC patient to enroll in this program.
