PCHC Celebrates National Health Center Week 2020
The 2020 National Health Center Week is scheduled for August 9 to August 15. Throughout the week PCHC will post information about our services and will celebrate the patients and staff that make our health center so special. On August 9, 2020, Maine Governor, Janet Mills proclaimed that August 9-15 will be Maine Community Health Center week throughout the state of Maine. In the proclamation, Mills encourages all Maine people to celebrate the week by contacting their local health centers and exploring the programs they offer to help keep Maine families safe and healthy.
PCHC, Maine’s largest Federally Qualified Health Center joins the Governor in encouraging our patients and community members to reach out to our providers and learn about the many services we offer to help you live life the way it should be.

Maine Community Health Center Week – August 9th through August 15th

On Monday, August 10, PCHC is observing Health Care For the Homeless day as a part of National Health Center Week.
The Hope House provides transitional housing, shelter, and health care services, aimed at providing short term and long term aid to those experiencing homelessness.
Our Hope House providers and staff will work with each individual that needs comfort, help, and support by identifying the needs and goals of each person and walking with them every step of the way.
Check back later in the week, as we plan to release two interviews with Hope House staff that will go into greater detail about the mission and programs available to those experiencing homelessness and explain why these programs are so vital to the Maine communities.
We are proud of the work that our providers and staff of the Hope House Health and Living Center engage in each and every day and celebrate their efforts as part of National Health Center Week.

In honor of National Health Center Week, we spoke with Abagail Smith of Hope House Health & Living Center to talk about the Hope House mission and why these services are so crucial to the community.
It is a core belief from those working at PCHC that no person should be left behind by our community, and its the Hope House mission to help find purpose, with each individual experiencing homelessness.

Today during National Health Center Week, we focus on and celebrate those that make PCHC what it is, our patients. Each and every one of our staff members couldn’t do what we do without the patients that have entrusted their health care needs to us.
While we wish we could send a thank-you card to every one of our patients – we didn’t want this day to go by without expressing how important you all are to all of us. PCHC would like to share a digital thank-you card from a number of our staff and providers.

As National Health Center Week starts to form in our rearview mirror, PCHC would like to once again thank all of our over 800 employees that make our community health centers such a tremendous resource for the state of Maine.
We know that this year has been an unprecedented challenge. One which all of you have met head-on and continue to provide first-rate service to all the patients that rely on PCHC to keep them healthy and safe.
