David Loxterkamp, MD

Dr. Loxterkamp and his wife, Lindsay, have lived and worked in Belfast for nearly all their professional careers. He grew up in a small farming community in Northwest Iowa where his father was the general practitioner and his wife was the nurse. He moved to Belfast in 1984 and joined Dr. Tim Hughes in founding Searsport Family Practice. This would later become Seaport Family Practice and , ultimately, Seaport Community Health Center.
Dr. Loxterkamp’s professional interests include minor surgical procedures, substance use disorder services, and narrative medicine.
